We are finding many ways to tap the power of the sun. Solar panels are common on home roofs these days. There is another easy to capture the energy of the sun and make it work to our advantage. How? By using the power of the sun to heat all the water we need for our home’s hot water usage.
Solar hot water heaters are growing in popularity while dropping in price. Plumbers are getting more and more calls about installing these systems. They are hot ticket items, especially now that everyone is looking to save money.
Do not invest in a solar hot water heating system without knowing for sure if it would be beneficial for your location. Your climate is only part of the equation. If you have too many trees on your property or if your home isn’t oriented correctly to the sun a solar hot water heating system may not be worth the money for you.
Going green is an admirable thing but it isn’t always economically feasible. Solar power may not be the best way to spend your green dollars. Invest in the areas which make both financial as well as environmental sense.
